SCUBA diving on he wreck of HMS Carentan (July 2012)

2012 scuba gear A dive on the wreck of HMS Carentan. She lies in a depth of ~30 m about 1 mile off Peverill Point just west of Swanage Bay. The Carentan was a French submarine hunter that was commandeered by the British in WWII and returned to the french towards the end of the war. She was was laden with depth charges and ordinance.

She capsized and sank on the 21st December 1943. while escorting the incoming British submarine HMS Rorqual in a storm. She lies a short distance away from the wreck of the Kyarra, another popular Swanage wreck (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44LsboC_dI0)

Shot with a Sony FX1E (1080i HD and downscaled to 720p for YouTube.) in a Gates housing, using mostly ambient light but with some help of a pair of Greenforce Squid 150 HID lights.
